Gregg Diamond
As a painter, there is nothing I love more than working with color and paint and losing myself in the canvas. I try to take the viewer in their mind’s eye to the subject or the location of my painting where they can say “I recognize that” or “I remember that”! I make the paintings light, colorful and joyful – not overwrought with hidden meaning, or full of negative energy. I do this by using a variety of colors - often blending two colors together to give the impression of a third. I use a variety of brush strokes from broad dabs to long undulating strokes to create the sky, plants, grass and background effects. I mix those color blends with more solid but colorful man made objects to give depth. I often tie it all together with cool blues and greens for shadowing. The overall effect is soothing and transports the viewer to different place – if just for a moment.
My work mainly consists of acrylic on canvas but I have also worked with mixed media on fine art paper.
I am a member of the Greater Reston Arts Center, League of Reston Artists, and the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA.
I hope you enjoy my work featured on this web site!
